Show pig buying season is in full swing in our area. We decided to not “open the barn” for weekends on end because, just like y’all, we’re hitting the road and seeing what all is out there in terms of breeds we don’t offer ourselves. That being said, the barn will be open over the next few weeks, it’s just by appointment only, and you’ll have to call/text Chris 254-434-3631 to set that up, ask specific questions, get directions, all the things. We’ve had some weird msgs on FB asking about pigs and with all the weird AI (we’re not talking about artificial insemination) stuff out there, we can’t tell if it’s real people or not. So just call or text. It’s easier & we’ll respond more quickly.
Our July litters are super green (literally just weaned) & not available right now, so that’ll look like mid- September to check them out.
Our June Crosses & Chester litters may be small in numbers, but we’re not mad about them one bit. We’d rather have quality in the barn than quantity.
We’re in the process of letting the girls pick a few of their projects from what we’ve raised, and then choosing & picturing what will go to the MFD & Friends Showpig Sale in Poolville Sept 5-6th. We’re grateful to be invited back & excited to see what new pigs in new hands can accomplish this coming show season.
If you can’t make it in person to Poolville, or can’t make it down to our barn, our offerings for MFD will be available for preview online Friday, September 5th & online bidding will be available during the live sale on Saturday, September 6th.
